Mission Accomplished

I can't tell you all how happy and proud we are over here. We believed in you just as you believe in us, and now we can focus on the task at hand. You all have spoken- and we heard your message loud and clear. There is no question that your support for us is overwhelming. Morale is high. We won't let you down...

No matter who you voted for, I'd ask you to support our Commander in Chief. It may not be readily obvious, but I'm telling you it's critical to our success.

I'm so glad this thing is over. Army Staff Officer by day, Pseudo Military Pundit by night is too exhausting for words. Tonight I sleep easy- thanks to you all.

I don't plan on ever mentioning the flip-flopper guy ever again. I appreciate his willingness to kindly step aside, and perhaps he'll find it in his heart to come clean and apologize someday.

From here on out, I'd like to stay away from politics. I now feel free to use this Forum for what it was originally intended- to spread the truth about our nation's military and offer the occasional (and sometimes educational?) color commentary. I welcome any of you to sound off about anything you'd like, post comments/email me with any questions or topics, and most of all- just come on by and share ideas. Say what you want about the blogosphere- I think it's a much better alternative to the MSM. I think a lot of people are starting to feel this way...

Great job yesterday! I'm about to listen to a speech that I've been wanting to hear for many months now, and then I'm going to get some (much needed) rest...

Thanks-

2Slick

In the end, the speech was one of the finest moments of the campaign. That, and that moment during his acceptance speech given during the RNC in which he spoke of his sincere admiration for those who serve in defending our democracy.

The man values and deeply understand the core of the indomintable American spirit.

2Slick-
I sent the following letter to MoveOn.org with hopes of working them up in a frenzy. Enjoy.

I hope you read through this entire letter, but if you realize the truth in my letter hits a little too close to home feel free to hit delete.
I hope you realize the failure of the multiple candidates supported by MoveOn.org is a direct result of your organization's failure and more importantly the individual candidate’s failure to connect with the American voters. Let me explain. First, you based a large portion of your campaign on hate and anti-Bush rhetoric. Campaigns don't win with this as a central theme, ask the Republicans after the ‘96 campaign when the anti-Clinton campaign failed. Many conservatives have a deep hatred of Clinton and his cronies for many different reasons; they supported an anti-Clinton candidate just as you supported an anti-Bush candidate. It would have worked better if you actually believed in Kerry as a candidate, not as the anti-Bush. You will also note that Senator's Daschle's downfall began when he became more closely tied to Clinton. He should have been more closely tied to South Dakota, he wasn’t. Believe what you want, but speak with SD voters and you will understand the truth on that one. South Dakota voters, not unlike the rest of the 59 million Bush voters, proved that pro-American conservative ideals are popular because they are good for the country. Second, you attacked the military when you thought you were attacking President Bush's policies in Iraq. Many of the things you pointed out were the responsibilities of commanders at those lower levels. What you failed to understand is that the military supports Bush because he supports the military. He lets commanders make command decisions. Maybe your organization wants to go back to the days when Johnson and McNamara picked out what bridges to bomb in Vietnam. A military cannot function like that. Yes mistakes were made, but many of the ones you pointed out (Abu Ghraib, the so called lost explosives, etc.) where a result of isolated failure (Abu Ghraib) or a result of tough decisions made in a complex combat situation. Additionally, the military understood Kerry was a fair-weather fan of the military. He said he wants to increase the Army by two divisions, but the military wonders why he didn't stop Clinton from gutting the military in the 90's (more than two divisions were disbanded following the 1st Gulf War, yes Bush Sr. started some of these cuts, but Clinton expanded them and didn't fund what he left behind). Also, the large number of people serving in the guard, reserves and active duty that have served in Iraq and Afghanistan results in a large number of non-military people directly knowing someone that served and witnessed many of the things on T.V. and your commercials. Some of your claims were not only offensive to the majority of the military; they were also either severely distorted or plain false. Third, many of the candidates (Kerry, Castor in particular) never clearly answered their critics on serious questions about their integrity or positions. Namely the Swift Boats, they repeatedly asked for Kerry to sign a SF 180 to clear up some questions... he never did, this type of behavior left too many questions unanswered and left those answers to speculation. It also left most to believe the allegations were true. They also skirted many of the issues about partial birth abortion, gun control and gay marriage. All "conservative" issues, but also important to left-wingers. The result of these candidates tap dancing was two fold; it pissed off of both extreme left and extreme right wing and just confused the middle. They tried to make everyone happy, but made no one happy. One of the main reasons I voted for Bush was the fact that I knew exactly where he stood. He may have appeared simple but in this year's election, simple was what it took. I don't know if you read this much of my letter, if you did, I hope you understood and listened to some of my points. If not, I hope you are enjoying the Michael Moore movie you went to go watch instead of listening to my viewpoint. Please feel free to respond.

the letter to moveon.org was from me, B-cus, I don't think I put that in my previous post.

Bcus-

Masterfully crafted. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a response from those morons. They're probably in the midst of a civil war right now- trying to figure out who was responsible for the failed overthrow...

Nice work, and please post any response they give you...

Thank God you still have a real CinC.

We're very proud of what you have accomplished. Our Armed Forces have pulled off a nearly endless series of miracles.

We mourn every loss, we pray for the families of the fallen.

And we love our military people!

The barking moonbats deserved the traitor/poseur that they chose to lead them - our troops, however, did not!

Now that the election is over, I'm glad I have time to just sit and read your blogs without feeling as if there's something else I SHOULD be doing. Thank you for keeping us better informed.

The love and prayers of millions are with you all, day and night.
